There are many under trials who have no local support or they are too poor to engage a lawyer to defend themselves in the Court and therefore keep languishing for months and years even after they are granted bail by the Court. Among these under trials there are many persons the cases of whom do not demand a step as drastic as arrest/detention and custody. In the near future, the HURT Foundation would engage itself towards increasing the effectiveness of the State Legal Aid Services and provide support to the State body, by forming a panel of lawyers dedicated for the protection and promotion of human rights.
